Ravens- Ray Lewis announced today that this upcoming postseason will be his last in the NFL. The linebacker has played 17 seasons in the league and has missed most of this season with a triceps injury. The legendary linebacker fully expects to play on Sunday against the Colts.
The hometown Falcons are on the practice field this week, despite getting a first round bye. Jon Abraham injured his ankle against the Bucs on Sunday and Mike Smith said that initial indications were minor. Smith also added that Dunta Robinson had a head injury and on Monday was undergoing the team’s concussion protocol. Both players are expected to play when the team hits the field for its Divisional Round game next Sunday. William Moore has been out the past few games with a hamstring issue. Mike Smith would not say if the players practiced on Wednesday and added that the team will not have an injury report this week.
Tim Dobbins did not practice with an ankle issue on Wednesday. On Tuesday, the Texans placed LB Darryl Sharpton on injured reserve with a hip injury. Remember, the Texans lost standout linebacker Brian Cushing for the year to a torn ACL.
The Texans host Cincinnati in the first game of Wild Card weekend on Saturday. The Bengals are deaing with just a few minor issues with Jason Allen (hamstring), Safety Chris Crocker (Thigh), Benjarvus Green-Ellis (Hamstring), Taylor Mays (Hamstring), Terrence Newman(Groin) all limited in Wednesday’s practice.
Seahawks- Marshawn Lynch is dealing with a back issue was limited in practice. This has been standard procedure for the running back this season. He will be a full go on Sunday against the Redskins.
Washington- London Fletcher is the only player of note that did not practice on Wednesday. He was held out with an ankle issue. Nothing suggests that he shouldn’t be able to play Sunday against Seattle.
Green Bay- A day after being cleared to come back and play since breaking his collarbone, Charles Woodson was back on the Packers practice field for a second straight day. All indications are good for the veteran safety to come back and play since injuring himself in late October. Jermichael Finley and Jordy Nelson both found their way on the field for Wednesday’s practice. Both players were limited participants. Finley is listed as having a quad injury and according to ProFootballTalk.com the Packers tight end also has a swollen eye after getting poked in the Week 17 loss at Minnesota. As for Nelson, he reportedly looked good running and his coach Mike Smith says that its up to the team doctors whether or not he gives it a go on the knee issue.
Minnesota- Quarterback Christian Ponder has a bruised throwing elbow from the win last week against these Packers. He was limited and isn’t expected to miss Saturday night’s game.
